Magazine, Newsletter and Web Internship Opening

Recruiting now for March/April start

Join the editorial team in the Fitchburg offices of an international association dedicated to the professional development of credit union leaders. Get experience that will make your resume attract attention from hiring managers.


  • Writing, editing, proofreading, research and fact checking for 60-page monthly print/digital magazine, Web site, blog and e-newsletters
  • Depending on intern’s interests and skills, an overall editorial project may be developed in addition to other responsibilities



  • Solid reporting, writing and editing skills
  • Some journalism coursework or experience; UW-Madison Journalism course 335: Intermediate Reporting (or equivalent) especially helpful
  • General computer knowledge and typing skills



  • 8-10 hours a week during spring semester and 20 hours a week during the summer
  • A regular schedule of hours, to be determined by the student’s class schedule, is preferred. For example, a student might choose to work Monday and Wednesday mornings



  • Bylines and clips for your portfolio
  • Experience in research, interviewing, writing, editing and fact checking
  • Academic credit, if desired and applicable
  • Modest hourly wage



  • Available for mid spring semester and summer 2015; possibility of continuing through fall semester
