Hank Hubbard

Mr. Henry H. (Hank) Hubbard is the President/CEO of Communicating Arts Credit Union. He has served in this capacity since 1991.

Communicating Arts Credit Union is a non-profit financial institution was originally chartered to provide services for people in the communicating arts industries, and now serves anyone who lives or works in the city of Detroit.  CACU’s strategic focus is on people with low-to-moderate income, and it is designated a community development financial institution. These services include a full array of savings and loan products from checking accounts to first mortgages. The credit union serves about 8,000 members and has approximately $30,000,000 in assets.

He is member of several committees through the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) including the Metro West chapter Executive Committee, is Chair of the Community Reinvestment Task Force, and has taught at the annual volunteer education conference. In 2006 Hank was recognized for his work with the fledgling credit union industry in Macedonia with the MCUL International Credit Union Development award. In 2009 CACU was named MCUL’s Outstanding CU of the year and in 2010 CACU earned national awards for community service, including the CU Times Trailblazer award for Outstanding Service to the Underserved.

In addition to activity in the credit union industry, Hank has a passion for the Academy of Finance, a program for Detroit Public High School students interested in careers in finance. He’s been on that advisory board since 1995, serving as internship chairman from 1996 - 1999, and Co-Chairman from 1999 – 2002. He has been serving on various committees since, and was honored by the National Academy Foundation as an advisory board champion in 2006.

Hank has a Bachelors degree in Economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and is a Certified Credit Executive. Prior to joining the Credit Union, he held positions in several industries including: retail, fashion, publishing, and computer consulting.

He and his wife, Monica, live in Grosse Pointe. Their daughters Clare and Kitsi are away in college.
