Bill Goedken is president and CEO of Goedken Consulting Group, LLC, a firm that serves credit unions, banks and thrifts nationwide. He was the former group president of ProfitStars, a division of Jack Henry & Associates, which serves nearly 8,000 banks, credit unions and savings and loans.
Goedken holds both CPA and CMA certifications and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Iowa and Nebraska Societies of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, the Association of Management Information for Financial Services, and the Bank Administration Institute.
He is a past chairman of CUES Financial Suppliers Forum. In 2003, Goedken was honored as the “Entrepreneur of the Year” by KPMG and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. In 2005, he was named “Outstanding CPA of the Year in Business and Industry” by the Nebraska Society of CPA’s.
Before joining ProfitStars, Goedken was a manager with the international accounting firm of Touche Ross (now part of Deloitte and Touche), and a staff accountant with Dee Gosling & Co. (now part of Clifton Gunderson & Co. CPAs.) For seven years he was a senior officer of Farmers National Bancorp, a multi-bank holding company, and was also an adjunct member of their asset/liability management committee.
Goedken has taught financial management at the University of Iowa, and has published numerous articles in the areas of asset/liability management, risk management and planning. He has spoken to thousands of credit union and bank executives, and examiners (including the NCUA) at various seminars.
Goedken is a continuing faculty member at the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He also wrote ALMSpelled Out: Second Edition through CUES, and is a frequent contributor Credit Union Management™ magazine.
