Dr. John Redding is president and CEO of the Institute for Strategic Learning (ISL), a strategic planning consulting firm based in the Chicago area.
Each year, ISL conducts strategic planning sessions for leading credit unions across North America. ISL has been a pioneer the use of the balanced scorecard and other innovative strategic planning tools with credit unions. Under John’s leadership, ISL has also just completed a two-year Good-to-Great Credit Union Study, seeking to discover what it takes for a good performing credit union to become a great performing credit union.
John is a recognized authority on strategic planning, authoring two books – Strategic Readiness and The Radical Team Handbook – and dozens of articles on the topic. John has 25 years of experience as a strategic planning facilitator, personally leading planning sessions for over 150 organizations representing corporate, governmental, and non-profit firms.
His doctorate is from Northern Illinois University, where he also taught graduate courses in strategic management. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute.
