Member News:
Anniversary: Achieva Credit Union, Clearwater, Fla., is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the launch of its new brand identity. Its new logo and tagline, Banking for Good, exemplify its renewed focus on its members and the community. The CU has 11 CUES members.
Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, East Lansing, Mich., is celebrating its 75th year anniversary all year with special promotions. Members with an existing MSUFCU Visa Credit Card and members who open a new card between July 1 and Sept. 30 are entered to win their balance paid by the CU up to $575 when they use their cards during the promotional period. Five members will be randomly selected to win. Also, members can enter the 75th anniversary online video quiz for their chance to win a prize pack, which includes CU gifts and a $200 gift card to a local jeweler. Until the end of September, the CU will be highlighting information about the credit union from the 1970s and 1980s. Members who receive 100 percent on a quiz are entered into the grand prize drawing for a $7,500 to Wheat Jewelers gift card at the end of the year. The CU has nine CUES members.
Honored: Hubert Hoosman, Jr., president/CEO of Vantage Credit Union, Bridgeton, Mo., was honored at the African-American Credit Union Coalition Annual Conference, Aug. 2-4 in Charleston, S.C. Hoosman, who is stepping down from the organization’s board, received an award in recognition for his assistance in founding AACUC and his years of service on the board.
New Position: Brett Noll, CME, is the new president/CEO of Securityplus Federal Credit Union, Baltimore. Previously, he was SVP/chief marketing officer at Langley Federal Credit Union. He succeeds Richard Williams, Jr., who is now the president/CEO of Dow Louisiana Federal Credit Union, Plaquemine, La.
Parkside Credit Union, Livonia, Mich., has hired longtime credit union executive Martin Carter as president/CEO. Previously, he was as executive vice president at Community Choice Credit Union, Farmington Hills, Mich.
Community Involvement: Members Credit Union held its Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Aug. 3 at the Salem Glen Golf and Country Club in Clemmons, N.C. This year’s tournament raised $7,000. The proceeds were divided equally between the Members CU Scholarship Fund and The Children’s Home, in Winston-Salem, N.C. The CU has two CUES members.
TruMark Financial® Credit Union’s fraud crimes investigator, Trevose, Pa., addressed students participating in the Salvation Army’s Learning Zone summer program on Aug. 2, on the dangers of posting personal information on social media sites. The workshop stressed ways to protect personal information and avoid becoming a victim of identity theft. The CU has one CUES member.
CUES Supplier Member News: The Members Group, Des Moines, Iowa, announced the addition of Michael Cebrick and Sam Sassen to the company’s staff. Cebrick joins TMG as director/new client partnerships. His past experience includes eight years at Alliance Financial Services where he consulted with credit unions and community banks on their credit card portfolios. Sassen joins TMG as director/client relations. He has more than 20 years of financial processing experience, having held a variety of relationship management positions with his previous employer, First Data.
