Member News:

Honored: Vantage West Credit Union, Tucson, has been recognized as the top SBA 504 lender in Southern Arizona. The CU was named “The Gold Institution” by the Business Development Finance Corp., an SBA Premier Certified lender and a private, nonprofit entity that provides financing to Arizona businesses. The CU has 13 CUES members as part of its CUES Advancing Management Group Membership.

Promotion: Summit Credit Union, Madison, Wis., has promoted Kimberly Frederickson to VP/financial education and business development. Frederickson joined Summit CU in 2004 as a trainer. Since then, she has held a variety of learning and development roles, including her most recent promotion in 2008 to AVP/learning and development.

Wright-Patt Credit Union, Fairborn, Ohio, promoted Tracy A. Fors to VP/marketing and business development. Previously she was director/marketing and business development.

Retirement/New Position: Colleen Engel, CEO of Generations Family Federal Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., retired on Dec. 31. Rita Leader will take over the top spot.

Martin Banecker retired as president/CEO of Campbell Employees Federal Credit Union, Cherry Hill, N.J., after 30 years of service. David Ardire, VP/finance, will succeed him.

Merger: FedChoice Federal Credit Union (with 13 CUES members as part of its CUES Advancing Management Group Membership), Lanham, Md., and Washington Postal Employees Federal Credit Union, Washington, D.C., merged on Jan. 1.

Scholarship: Community Choice Credit Union, Farmington Hills, Mich., announced that its nonprofit foundation has made $100,000 available in scholarships to students in Michigan. The CU has 10 CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.

Community Involvement: Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., and its members and employees donated nearly 900 non-perishable food items to local charitable organizations as part of its fifth annual Holiday Canned Food Drive. The CU has nine CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.

Chartway Federal Credit Union, Virginia Beach, Va., and its charitable arm, the We Promise Foundation, are kicking off the 4th Annual Free Groceries for a Year Raffle. All proceeds from the event will benefit children in Chartway communities who are battling chronic or life-threatening illnesses. After raising more than $24,000 last year, hopes are high to raise $30,000 this year. Tickets for the raffle are $20; with each ticket purchased, participants increase their chances of winning $5,200 worth of free groceries. The CU has four CUES members.

CUES Supplier Member News: Pentegra Retirement Services, Shelton, Conn., has acquired Advanced Pension Solutions, Inc., a full-service, third-party retirement plan administration firm located in Blacklick, Ohio, and Louisville, Ky.
