Member News:

Honored: The Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management, in conjunction with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, has named Park Community Federal Credit Union, Louisville, as a winner in the Ninth Annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky competition. The CU is one of 33 winners in the small/medium-sized employer category. The selection process was managed by Best Companies Group, based on assessment of each company’s employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey. The CU has 41 CUES members as part of its CUES Advancing Management Group Membership.

Promotion: David Young, CCUE, has been promoted to executive vice president at Commonwealth Credit Union, Frankfort, Ky. Previously he was VP/operations.

New Position: John Godwin, CCE, is the new chief operating officer of Securityplus Federal Credit Union, Baltimore. Previously he was VP/business development/strategic alliances at MECU of Baltimore, Inc.

Retirement: Anthony (Tony) Cali, president/CEO of IC Federal Credit Union, Fitchburg, Mass., has announced his retirement effective April 30.

Community Involvement: For the fourth year in a row, employees from Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., assisted at the Riverside County Academic Decathlon. Altura CU’s 11 staffers served as proctors during the “Super Quiz” portion of the event. More than 180 students in teams from 19 high schools competed in the 30th Annual Academic Decathlon, which is sponsored by the Riverside County Office of Education. The event components include writing essays, delivering prepared and impromptu speeches, being interviewed by judges and participating in the Super Quiz. The CU has nine CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.

Members Advantage Credit Union, Michigan City, Ind., has donated $2,500 to the Michigan City Salvation’s Army holiday fundraising campaign. The CU has six CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.

Through Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union’s “Funding Your Ideas” Grant Program, educators across Long Island had the opportunity to apply for a grant to support an innovative classroom project. NEFCU, Westbury, N.Y., awarded more than $13,000 this past December and more than $100,000 in total grants since the program’s inception in 2004. The CU has six CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.
