Elected: Chuck Purvis, president/CEO of $2.1 billion Coastal Federal Credit Union, Raleigh, N.C., has been elected to a three-year term on the board of CO-OP Financial Services, joining other re-elected directors in the 11-member body, including these CUES members:
- Terry Laudick, president/CEO of New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, Albuquerque, N.M., who was re-elected to a second one-year term as board chairman;
- Allan McMorris, president/CEO of Oakland County Credit Union, Waterford, Mich., board secretary; and
- Jeff Napper, president/CEO of LBS Financial Credit Union, Long Beach, Calif., board treasurer.
Honored: Several CUs with CUES member have been named award winners by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions:

- CEOs of the Year: C. Dana Rawlings of Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union, Charleston, W. V., Paul Trylko of Amplify Federal Credit Union, Austin, Texas, and Terry Laudick of New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, Albuquerque, N.M.
- Professionals of the Year include: Lisa Nicholas, VP/marketing at Amplify FCU, and Joseph C. Anderson, chief operating officer of AmeriCU, Rome, N.Y.
- Volunteers of the Year include Richard Caccamise, CCD, director of First Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Ocean, N.J.
NeighborBench, a provider of compliance solutions for credit unions, recently recognized Foothills Credit Union, Lakewood, Colo., for its commitment to compliance. The CU has five CUES members as part if its CUES Advancing Management Group Membership.
Community Involvement: Employees of Alliant Credit Union, Chicago, recently contributed to the CU’s 6th Annual Spring Fling Clothing Drive, resulting in the donation of thousands of gently used clothing items to Goodwill. The CU has one CUES member.
Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union, Westbury, N.Y., sponsored the Long Island Region’s 2013 Special Olympics Spring Game, involving more than 700 athletes, 200 coaches, 500 volunteers, and over 1,000 spectators from across Long. Athletes competed in nine different sports. In addition to their sponsorship, the CU hosted a promotion on its Facebook page asking “likers” of the page to comment on special Athlete Highlight Posts wishing each athlete good luck. For every comment received, NEFCU donated $1 to Special Olympics for a total of $469. The CU has six CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.
TruMark Financial® Credit Union, Trevose, Pa., sponsored a “dress down day” and allowed employees to wear jeans on April 12 and 26, in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County, raising $950. The CU has one CUES member.
CUES Supplier Member News: For the fourth consecutive year, The Members Group, Des Moines, has received NOVA Awards from the Iowa Chapter of the American Marketing Association. TMG received third place in the Marketing Communications category for a white paper series that created brand awareness and opened doors for new client relationships.
