Honored: Richard Whitman, VP/mortgage lending at Texas Trust Credit Union, Mansfield, Texas, has received the Five Star Mortgage Professional Award for the second consecutive year. Whitman is one of 224 professionals, out of 15,765 in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, to be designated a Five Star Professional, which recognizes mortgage professionals based upon overall consumer satisfaction. More than 43,000 recent homebuyers in the Dallas-Fort Worth market were surveyed. Whitman has been leading the Texas Trust CU mortgage team since 2006. His service-minded philosophy has helped the CU grow its residential lending to become the largest credit union mortgage lender in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
Summit Credit Union’s “Inspiration Branch” received two prestigious recognitions: Best Retail Renovation and Best Small Project at the 2013 In Business Commercial Design Awards, May 7 in Madison, Wis. Stemming from a traditional branch built in 2000, Summit transformed the space into a virtual “stage” in January 2013 for people to find and identify their ambitions or goals, and inspire them to take action on their dreams. New Position: Scott Witherspoon is the new SVP/chief credit officer at Affinity Federal Credit Union, Basking Ridge, N.J. He comes to the CU from Morgan Stanley where he served for over 20 years, most recently as managing director/credit risk management.
Community Involvement: Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., has presented a $10,000 check to the American Red Cross to assist with relief efforts for victims of the tornado that devastated Moore, Okla., on May 20. The CU has nine CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.
Andrews Federal Credit Union, Suitland, Md., joined with the Armed Forces Financial Network to present gift cards to the Joint Base Andrews Fisher House. Andrews FCU and AFFN each presented $3,000 in gift cards. The CU has 13 CUES members as part of its CUES Executive Group Membership.
CUES Supplier Member News: The Members Group, Des Moines, Iowa, announced the addition of three directors of new client partnerships, Steve Crucq, Mike Ham and Jake Sargent, to the payment processor’s regional sales team.
Crucq has extensive executive-level sales and marketing experience with leading financial services companies. Prior to joining TMG, Crucq was area vice president for Open Solutions.
Ham brings a wealth of experience in the payments, card, mortgage, banking and investment product areas to TMG, including serving as market manager for JPMorgan Chase and in market growth and business development roles for Wells Fargo.
Sargent joined TMG in 2011 as a product consultant for the prepaid department. Prior to joining the company, he managed two national-brand retail outlets. Both his experience on the prepaid team and his knowledge of retail environments provide TMG clients and prospects with unique consumer insights.
