Who Woke Us Up In the Middle of the American Dream?
Thursday, November 6, 2008
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Central time Online registration deadline: Monday, November 3 Presenters: Denise Wymore, culture consultant and credit union evangelist, and Mark Sadowski, credit union professional Word has it that the United States is perhaps on the brink of a financial collapse. Wall Street has effectively imploded and taken some of the oldest, most storied financial firms with it: Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and American International Group (AIG). The crisis has extended beyond Wall Street as well and more than a dozen banks have failed, including the giant Washington Mutual. Even some credit unions have been adversely affected and a few have failed. Funding for businesses has dried up. This threatens the economic viability of the United States and could extend globally. What led to this and the need for the Treasury and the Federal Reserve to step in and shore up the U.S. financial system? What effect will this have on the credit union movement? This Webinar will discuss the origins of the crisis and the sequence of events that led to the worst financial disaster since the start of the Great Depression.
Intended Audience:
