CUES Recognizes Top 2009 Councils, Recruiters By Leisa Goodman Nov. 2, 2009 CUES announced its top council winners and thanked its top recruiters yesterday at CEO/Executive Team Network in Orlando, Fla.
The CUES Alabama Council was honored with the Glenn Johnson Outstanding Council Award for councils with less than 74 CUES members. CUES Iowa and Nevada Councils received Awards of Excellence in this category.
The CUES Rocky Mountain Council, whose membership consists of CUES members in the states of Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming, received the Elmer Cinnater Outstanding Council Award for councils with 75 to 150 CUES members. Awards of Excellence in this category went to the CUES Delaware Valley and Utah Councils. The CUES Michigan Council was presented with the Bob Garrard Outstanding Council Award for councils with more than 150 CUES members. In addition, the CUES Florida and Greater Southern Councils received Awards of Excellence. The Greater Southern Council includes members in Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
CUES Councils serve CUES members regionally, offering networking and career-enhancing resources to credit union leaders. Run by members on a volunteer basis, the 25 councils are judged annually on professional development, communication and planning. The three Outstanding Councils each received a prize of $1,000, while the Award of Excellence recipients each received $500, to be used for future meetings. During the awards luncheon, CUES also inducted its top new-member recruiters from the past year into the CUES Chairman's Club. Eight CUES members were honored as part of the Chairman's Club Circle for recruiting three or four new members, and two CUES members were honored as part of the Chairman's Club Roundtable for recruiting five to seven new members.
