Retirement
Judy
McCartney,
president/CEO of $863 million/82,000-member Orange County's Credit Union, Santa Ana, Calif., will retire on Jan. 1,
after 38 years in the credit union industry and 27 years at Orange
County's Credit Union.
Succeeding McCartney will be Shruti Miyashiro.
Her appointment marks a return to Orange County's CU for Miyashiro who,
from 1999 to 2002, was a member of the credit union's executive team. While
at Orange County's CU, she held the position
of VP/administration and prior to leaving was president of the credit union's
CUSO, Orange County Group, Inc.
Merger
$30 million Eaton
Family Credit Union, with 9,000 members, Euclid, Ohio, has merged with
$6 million All Employees Credit Union, Willoughby Hills, Ohio.
CEO Michael Losneck
is a CUES member.
Name Change
$134 million EMSBLA Credit Union, with
5,800 members, Milwaukee, has unveiled a new name: Empower
Credit Union. The decision was spurred by a desire to "reflect
who we really are and those that we serve," said Jennifer Schilling,
president/CEO and a CUES member. "We wanted to honor our relationship and
history with our employer group, Wisconsin Energy Corp., and its main subsidiary,
We Energies." Today, about 55 percent of all Wisconsin Energy employees
are members of the credit union.

premier sponsors for a Habitat for Humanity house in Des Moines. Credit union
partners include: Capitol View Credit Union (with one CUES member), Community
Choice Credit Union (one member), Des Moines Police Officers Credit Union, EdCo
Community Credit Union (one member), Financial Plus Credit Union (one member),
First Class Credit Union, Guide One Credit Union, Midland Credit Union, Premier
Credit Union (two members), United Service Credit Union and Veridian Credit
Union (three members).
Staffers from $897 million Altura
Credit Union, with 111,000 members, Riverside, Calif., recently donated
43 pints of blood during its annual blood drive. Fifty-four employees, including
11 first-timers, contributed blood that may eventually help save more than 100
lives.
