My name is Branda, and I am CUES.

My first job in the financial services industry was in the accounting department at Denver Community Federal Credit Union. I was looking for an accounting-type job, and I hadn’t considered a credit union, but once there I liked the philosophy.

It’s been great to have access to other credit union executives and vendors through CUES. I’ve made acquaintances through the years by going to CEO/Executive Team Network™. I’ve created connections, and it’s great to know people around the country to run things past—not just in Colorado, but throughout the U.S.

I read Credit Union Management magazine religiously each month; there are always really interesting articles in there. I share them with the staff on a monthly basis; it’s such a valuable resource.

I joined CUES for several reasons—having access to the educational opportunities and the forums was big, and so is the magazine. It’s hard to pick just one thing as being my favorite. I really respect other CUES members, they are great resources, and great peers to have.

I find value in talking to other CUES members, and I’m active in the CUES Rocky Mountain Council. I’ve been involved in it for several years; the networking and exchange opportunities have been very valuable to me. I have encouraged others to join CUES, especially at the Council level. Quite a few people have joined because of my suggestions.

My name is Branda Abbot from Premier Members Federal Credit Union, and I am CUES.
