CUES professional development opportunities are of extreme quality. I always learn and grow, and I also always take home great ideas for our credit union that either save us money, make us money, or both.

My name is Jenny, and I am CUES.

My first job in financial services was in the correspondent banking division at a national commercial bank, but I quickly got bored and was getting somewhat button-holed into one position. So, when I saw an ad for an office manager at a then $11 million credit union, I applied, hoping I’d get more exposure to the entire organization.

I certainly have. Twenty five years later, I’ve grown exponentially and so has our organization. I am EVP, and we have $270 million in assets.

I owe some of that growth to my involvement with CUES. I joined CUES almost immediately after I began at the credit union in order to attend a national conference. I continue my CUES Membership because of all I gain from those conferences, and CUES professional development opportunities are of extreme quality. I always learn and grow, and I also always take home great ideas for our credit union that either save us money, make us money, or both.

I also know the value of CUES networking and resource sharing opportunities at conferences and online. CUES’ “Members Share” is a resource I’ve tapped into for so many things over the years. Most recently, I was drafting a job description for an IT director and turned to CUES to find job descriptions shared by other credit union executives.

CUES networking benefit extends even to the local level. I see it constantly as president of CUES Iowa Council. I am proud to be someone who can bring the benefits of CUES and its commitment to professional development, and cooperative learning through networking, to local credit union executives.

CUES remains a tremendous asset as I continue to grow and learn, and as I continue to help strengthen and grow our credit union.

My name is Jenny Lorenz, from Linn Area Credit Union, and I am CUES.
