My name is Ronaldo and I am CUES.


I accidentally got into the credit union world. I had worked in banking for two years, then at call centers for about a year. Someone sent my resume into La Capitol when I was looking for a job, and one day out of the blue, I got a call from the HR manager. There was an opening in the phone center, which combined my banking experience with my call center experience. I’ve been with the credit union for about seven years now.

I became a CUES NextGen™ member due to the Next Top Credit Union Exec contest. That entire experience was amazing. I liked the first round of the competition the best because I was able to build upon my network, and I learned to market myself. And, then to be able to present at CEO/Executive Team Network—what an experience!

I would encourage others to enter. It’s been a really great thing for my career.

CEO Institute was amazing, as well. It was a very good eye opener; I learned things I need to be considering from a career perspective, ways to reach my objective to become a CEO someday.

I think NextGen Membership is excellent in terms of value and price. It’s very economical—and what you get in return is amazing. Being able to connect with other professionals through the membership and through CUES Net™ is so valuable, and I like reading Credit Union Management™ magazine, as well.

I’d like to become a CEO one day, but I want to have an impact on our industry as a whole, so I also want to volunteer. I’m passionate about Gen Y, and I believe there is a need and a place as a champion for the cause, to keep the movement alive and relevant.

I can’t express how much I appreciate CUES and everything CUES has done. For me, it has been life changing. My career has changed so much in one year—just one year!
