My name is Brent, and I am CUES.

I joined CUES not long after I began working at my first credit union. I’d previously been in banking, and had little knowledge of credit unions. The CEO of the organization was a proponent of education and felt CUES’ programs offered the best opportunities to introduce me to the industry in full.

Over the years, I’ve leveraged the quality of the education I’ve received from the programs I’ve attended as well as the content found in their monthly publication, Credit Union Management™.

After 15 years in the industry, I’ve genuinely found no other programs of greater value other than those offered by CUES. What I enjoy most is its true academic focus. I have learned a great deal, particularly about business planning strategies, and especially at their CEO Institute. This program had a strong scenario planning focus with many specifics I could directly apply to our own scenario planning efforts.

I’ve found Credit Union Management another great resource. Often, things one reads of the credit union industry are short and self-serving. Not so with Management; it contains timely topics vital to our industry. It also offers peer information, with in-depth experiences about ways credit unions have actually addressed and solved problems. In addition, the magazine gathers voices from all over the country, providing a more complete perspective on the industry.

After more than a decade of membership, I can definitely speak highly of CUES. The consistent quality of both its programs and publication sets it apart from any other resource in our industry.
