Appointed: Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., President/CEO Mark Hawkins recently joined the board of directors of the Riverside Community College District Foundation. The district includes three community colleges, a training facility and a culinary academy.

Merger: Fort Financial Federal Credit Union (with two CUES members) and ITT Employees' Federal Credit Union, both of Fort Wayne, Ind., plan to merge.

Retirement/Promotion: James Schenck, CCD, EVP/chief administration officer at Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Alexandria, Va., will become president/CEO on April 1. He succeeds Frank Pollack, who is retiring after leading the credit union for more than more than 13 years.

Retirement: Cindy Emmerich, CME, VP/marketing at Partners 1st Federal Credit Union, Fort Wayne, Ind., is retiring in June. Succeeding her is Joe Jentgen, previously marketing director at clothing manufacturer Berne Apparel.

Retirement/New CEO: Robert Miller will be the new president/CEO of Vermont State Employees Credit Union, Montpelier, Vt., succeeding will Steve Post, who is retiring. Previously, Miller was managing director at Conning & Co., Hartford, Conn.
