Since August 1984, Sam Han has been working for credit union industry—including for IBM Rocky Mountain FCU in Longmont, CO, as the Staff Accountant; for U.S. Congressional FCU in Washington, D.C., as the Staff Auditor; for Government Printing Office FCU in Washington, D.C., as the General Manager; and for NCUA Region V, as a Senior Examiner. He is currently the Director of Internal Audit at Andrews FCU in Suitland, MD.
Sam has written two articles on credit union cash management: One is titled “How Much and When?” which shows a procedure on how to calculate the right level of cash to keep in a branch. This was published in the CUES’s Credit Union Management magazine in December 2006. The other is titled “What is the Right Level?” which also shows a procedure on how to calculate the right level of cash to keep in an automated teller machine (ATM). This was published in the CUES’s Credit Union Management magazine’s Web site in January 2011.
Sam is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Sam is originally from Korea. He is a graduate of Seoul National University where he earned his BA and MPA, respectively. He also majored in accounting at the Graduate School of University of Colorado at Boulder, CO.
