Les Wallace has a Ph.D. in Communication and Organizational Behavior from the University of Oregon. He founded Signature Resources in 1982 and has grown the company into a 40 person consulting consortium of individuals and partner organizations. The Signature Resources consortium provides governance and leadership strategy and development to public and private sector enterprise globally through three domestic offices and three international offices. During 30 years service as a strategist to business and government Dr. Wallace has also served as university professor and administrator at the University of Oregon and Colorado State University, and hospital administrator at a large urban teaching hospital.
Dr. Wallace is recognized for tracking business environment and workplace trends and their impact upon business and government. Mixing practical solutions to today’s organizational challenges with leading edge ideas Les stretches our thinking about designing our future. His workshops, seminars and speaking engagements reach 20,000 people a year. His publications have appeared in Leadership Excellence, Personnel Journal, Physician’s Assistant, Leader’s Digest, Vistage View, Public Management, and Nation's Business as well as numerous research and conference proceedings. He is co-author of three business books, Influence in the Workplace: Maximizing Personal Empowerment (Kendall-Hunt 1992), Speak With Credibility™ (Signature Resources, 3rd Ed. 2002) and A Legacy of 21st Century Leadership (iUniverse, 2007). Signature Resources programs “Performance Engagement Competencies”™ and “Xtreme Breakthrough Performance!”™ are recognized as benchmarks in the organizational performance arena. A new program, “Personal Success in a Team Environment” was recently rolled out to 3,000 employees of the U.S. Department of Treasury.
Les is a frequent consultant and speaker on issues of organizational transformation and leadership, strategic thinking, board of directors development and governance, and coaching. His clients have included Fortune 100 businesses such as Hewlett-Packard, Dupont, Aetna, and Kodak. Government clients include the Internal Revenue Service, FBI, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, US Postal Service, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as well as numerous state and local government entities. The Small Business Commerce Association awarded Signature Resources “Small Business of the Year, 2009.”
Dr. Wallace is active in the following organizations: the World Future Society, Society for Human Resources Management, International City/County Managers Association. Dr. Wallace recently served on the Board of Directors of Security First Bank in the Midwest and now serves on the Board of Counterpart International, a 40 year old global community development and humanitarian aid organization based in Washington, D.C. Les is also on the faculty of the Institute for Global Chinese Affairs at the University of Maryland and the FBI Academy Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar.
