Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union’s (SLFCU) board of directors is searching nationwide for its next chief executive officer (CEO).  The CEO is responsible for carrying out the credit union’s vision and nurturing an organization that builds trust with employees, members, and the community through character, competence, and inclusiveness.  A high priority for this role is to strive for the highest level of service in internal interactions and act in the members’ best interest.  This position is instrumental in developing and maintaining an open and approachable culture of trust, integrity, and humility for employees and members.  As CEO, you are responsible for leading efforts to build long-term member relationships across the needs of all generations and enhance relationships with sponsors and SEGs.  The CEO engages with industry peers to shape national agendas, keeps abreast of trends impacting the credit union industry, and maintains financial strength through all economic cycles and environments.  The CEO of SLFCU ensures the organization continually attracts, develops, and retains quality employees, as well as encourages the executive team to bring forth differing thoughts and perspectives and cultivate creativity and innovation.  As CEO, you keep the credit union relevant in the digital landscape and proactively drive a diverse culture that aligns with the membership. 

The board of directors requires a CEO with proven leadership experience as a strategic thinker who can develop and execute a strategic plan, including developing and implementing policies, procedures, budgets, and programs that fulfill the organizational mission.  In addition, a proven history of implementing forward-thinking strategies and adapting to changing regulations, community needs, and industry standards is a plus.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success at mentoring and motivating staff to peak performance and managing diverse teams to accomplish a wide range of business objectives.  Serious candidates will create, monitor, and manage strategic alignment with the board of directors and within the credit union and effectively articulate and actuate the vision and strategy.  Candidates must be knowledgeable in all facets of credit union operations, ensuring effective internal controls and overall governance for the credit union.  A minimum of ten years in a senior leadership role within a financial institution is preferred.
