Position Purpose/Summary: The IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the critical daily operations of the credit union’s production core processing technology environment. In addition to ensuring IT is meeting its expectation of maximum uptime of critical systems, this individual will manage, direct, and support software deployments, maintenance, and other services related to software applications used within the organization. This individual will ensure that goals of complete, timely and accurate processing are maintained by directly supervising the production core environment inclusive of the financial core platform, automation platform(s) and ancillary supporting systems and processes. The IT Operations Manager will establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators to IT management. This individual will coordinate the staffing, hardware, and software resources necessary to support the technology needs of the credit union and ensure project timelines are met by the team. Acts as a senior technical lead and key project stakeholder. Ensures the operations team follows all organizational policies and procedures with careful attention given to detailed quality control.

This position would minimally require a bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information science, business administration or similar work experience, along with five or more years of related work experience. Prior successful experience directly managing staff. Strong technical understanding of Symitar’s Episys financial core and related processing in support of a 24/7 environment is required. Requires at least six or more years of experience working in direct support of a core financial platform as a system administrator, preferably with the Symitar Episys core and associated automation tools such as OpCon. Strong financial industry background preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities align with Visions Federal Credit Union and are subject to reform at-will of the company. Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

Directs, oversees, and assists with the selection, implementation, and installation of applications used by the organization.
Provides guidance and consultation on applications and related services to other departments, which may include reviewing system documentation, feasibility, design, testing, and implementation.
Maintains a strong security-first focus on technical controls around all applications under management of IT Operations. Directs staff on appropriate technical controls consistent with the security posture of the credit union.
Responsible for the timely completion and accuracy of all processes, jobs, and programs run in the production core environment.
Ensures that the enterprise software applications used by the credit union are well supported, maintained, and appropriately configured for optimal performance.
Acts as a product owner and works alongside vendors to adopt new and/or enhanced functionality within applicable software applications.
Establishes testing and QA processes to ensure the continued availability of applications.
Promotes and maintains information technology department standards of security of data through appropriate security controls, uptime and the minimization of business impact of downed services, quality service to all and error-free processing.
Ensures adequate staffing is allocated to all required enterprise application support and administration. Includes the coordination of training, scheduling, after-hours support/alert response and vendors.
Establishes, monitors and reports on key performance indicators for production operations.
Performs daily review of operational and system generated reports, identifying problems and working to resolve them in a timely manner in conjunction with other business units as necessary.
Monitors production processing in real-time to provide technical direction on operational incidents.
Ensures the operations team follows all policies and procedures regarding regular production processing and change management.
Reviews and supervises the implementation of all changes made to production core systems and enterprise applications supported by the business unit.
Proposes enhancements to existing processes and prepares written procedures as necessary.
Acts as a knowledge resource for those on the IT Operations team.
Facilitates the necessary evaluation, testing and implementation of core system enhancements and updates. Coordinates with IT programming and projects to run core system upgrades as enterprise projects.
Assists IT management during audits and examinations.
Embraces, applies, and supports the credit union’s mission, vision, core values and initiatives by demonstrating teamwork, service commitment and professionalism.
Responds to after-hours incidents as level 3 escalation and coordinates with staff and vendors to resolve incidents in a timely manner.
Performs regular reviews of all procedural documentation to ensure its continued accuracy and completeness.
Ensures quarterly failover testing of the core financial platform is conducted successfully by providing direction supervision and technical guidance during off-hours exercises.
Key Performance Metrics:
Core production environment uptime and availability to members and employees.
Accurate processing of all regular and periodic core operations functions.
Maintenance of applicable documentation and supporting diagrams.
Team responsiveness to system outages and other incidents.
Successful and frequent financial core failover tests.
Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Due to the nature of this role in dealing with senior management and employees on an on-going basis, the position requires (and is not limited to):

Strong technical knowledge and extensive experience in Jack Henry’s Symitar, SMA OpCon, and AIX administration.
Experience with IT risk and controls.
Attention to detail and a demonstrated desire for operational perfection.
Strong analytical and communication skills to be able to comprehend and clearly communicate in business terms information relating to technical and support issues.
Good understanding of project management processes and procedures.
Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment while making sound decisions.
Demonstrated collaborative skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Compensation Range: $95,000/yr. - $135,000/yr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*
