Cory Phariss is the Acting Regional Director of the NCUA’s Southern Region. In this role, Mr. Phariss oversees the examination and supervision of all federally insured credit unions in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Mr. Phariss joined the NCUA in 1999 as a field examiner in Corpus Christi, Texas. Throughout his career, he has served in various field, regional, and central office roles, including supervisory roles as a Supervisory Examiner and Director of Supervision. His tenure with the NCUA includes positions in the Office of Examination and Insurance, Office of the Executive Director, and President of NCUA’s Asset Management and Assistance Center. He has both led and participated in a variety of the agency’s national initiatives.
