With a career in the credit union industry beginning in 2007, Ruth has established herself as an advocate for cooperative finance and education. Her early work provided a strong foundation in credit union operations, member service, and community-focused financial empowerment.
Ruth served as Executive Assistant to the SVP/Chief Economist and SVP of Communications at America’s Credit Unions (formerly CUNA), where she supported economic research, strategic messaging, and the advancement of the credit union movement on a national scale.
A proud member of the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) since 2010, Ruth has been a consistent champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry. In 2017, she was elected to the AACUC Eastern Regional Chapter Board of Directors, where she continues to help guide its mission and strategic direction.
From June 2017 through March 2025, Ruth served as Executive Administrator and Board Liaison at the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES), supporting executive leadership, facilitating board operations, and contributing to governance and strategic initiatives. In March 2025, she transitioned into the role of Industry Experience Manager, representing CUES at conferences nationwide and promoting educational opportunities for credit union leaders.
Beyond her professional career, Ruth is actively engaged in volunteer leadership and serves on several nonprofit and credit boards. She is the Vice Chair of the Government Printing Office Federal Credit Union located in Washington, DC and serves as a Board Director for Share Inform Enlighten, a Long Island–based nonprofit organization dedicated to community education, empowerment, and outreach.
