Position Description

Chief Information Officer- Marine Federal Credit Union 4180 Western Blvd. Jacksonville, NC 28546

We are looking for a qualified individual to join our Executive Management team and support, lead, and provide strategic direction for our Information Systems Department. The Chief Information Officer is responsible for all aspects of the credit unions information systems department as well as providing necessary coaching and development to direct reports.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensures active and on-going coaching and development to assigned department staff, writes and conducts performance appraisals and identifies training needs.
• Maintains the security and integrity of all credit union systems.
• Develops and revises information system policies and procedures.
• Develops, directs and implements long-range IT strategic plans including budgeting, performance monitoring, reporting, priority setting and staff management.
• Assists in preparation and administration of annual budgets and strategic planning.
• Reviews, develops and implements the Technology Plan annually.
• Develops, recommends, directs and monitors all hardware and software conversions, development and enhancement projects.
• Develops and maintains effective and productive working relationships with user departments, senior managers and vendors.
• Stays abreast of new technologies and the impact to the credit union. Anticipates and recommends solutions to the Executive Team.
• Oversees assigned staff as it relates to IT activities; maintains communication and coordinates activities with other departments.
• Trains, directs and evaluates employee performance of assigned personnel.
• Recommends new hires, promotions, transfers and salary adjustments.
• Directs and coordinates all information technology activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Serves as a key member of the business continuity team and the Incident Response Team.
• Works with internal and external auditors and examiners to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
Position Requirements:
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible IT experience; at least 4 years in a supervisory role within the IT field
• Minimum 5 years Financial Institution experience, Credit Union experience preferred.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment, including demonstrated experience working with IT auditors, business auditors, and regulators.
• Bachelor degree, professional certification or comparable industry experience required.
• Be willing to work outside of normal business as hours as necessary.
• Ability to work on-site at designated location.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for job related travel.
• Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
• Ability to manage projects through to completion.
• Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to speak to groups of all sizes in a professional and precise manner.
• Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Must be bondable
Ergonomic Considerations:
• Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
• Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
• Ability to operate office machinery.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch and crawl for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
