Century Federal Credit Union is searching for a chief risk officer (CRO). The CRO is accountable for administering the efficient and effective governance of significant risks and related opportunities to the credit union and its departments. The CRO is responsible for the strategic, reputational, operational, financial, and compliance-related risk. The CRO assesses and mitigates significant competitive, regulatory, and technological threats to the organization's capital and earnings. The CRO works to ensure that the organization is compliant with government regulations and reviews factors that could negatively affect investments.
The CRO is responsible for the organization's risk management operations, including managing, identifying, evaluating, reporting, and overseeing the organization's risks externally and internally. The CRO reports to the CEO and supervises the director of fraud prevention. A strategic mindset in this position is essential.
Candidates must have extensive experience collaborating with executives and a broad knowledge of and experience with financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services, and the laws and regulations that apply to financial institutions. This organization is looking for a strategic thinker, with the ability to pivot and provide solutions to complex business problems and work with ambiguity.
A master’s degree in business administration or equivalent business experience is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the financial industry, 5 years of risk management experience and 5 years of leadership and management experience.
