Job Overview: Community First Credit Union is seeking a dynamic, results-driven and experienced External Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team. This role is pivotal in expanding our mortgage lending services through effective networking and business development strategies. The ideal candidate is an experienced loan officer with a proven track record in mortgage sales, established referral partners, and a passion for financial success.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a robust network of referral sources, including real estate professionals, builders, and personal contacts within the assigned market.
Actively identify and pursue potential borrower referral sources through marketing, cold calling, prospecting, and networking activities.
Create and conduct mortgage seminars to groups of 10+ to create awareness and promote our mortgage products, their features, and benefits.
Plan and participate in real estate business development activities, leveraging relationships with Title Companies, Realtors, Builders, and the community to generate new business.
Provide off-site origination and Credit Approval/Pre-Approval services for mortgage loans.
Evaluate potential borrowers, propose real estate financing options, and provide detailed information including closing costs, rates, and payment quotes.
Take complete and accurate mortgage applications, participate in obtaining necessary support documents, and oversee the loan process to ensure terms conformity.
Support assigned branches by conducting in-person visits, hosting virtual meetings, organizing branch events, and providing training related to mortgages.
Work closely with Processors and Underwriting to ensure loan documents are of high quality and loan conditions are met.
Ensure exceptional member experience by interacting with all parties involved in each loan transaction.
Maintain regular communication with members and Realtors throughout the loan process.
Analyze and identify potential loan markets, develop new referral networks, and market Community First products.

Qualifications:
Proven track record in sales and a respectable book of business that includes realtors, title companies, builders, and other referral sources.
Passionate about helping people achieve financial success through homeownership.
Consistent adherence to a high ethical standard.
Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
Must be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
Must have a thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage programs.

Additional Requirements:
Significant travel and prospecting within the assigned market.
