The Vice President of Card & Payments Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for the credit union's payment and card services functions. This role ensures payment channels and card programs deliver exceptional member experience while operating efficiently, securely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Through collaboration, innovation, and operational leadership, the Vice President drives the evolution of payment solutions, supports emerging technologies, and positions the credit union to meet the changing needs of members and the marketplace.
What You’ll Do:
• Oversee the strategic management, growth, and performance of the credit and debit card portfolios, ensuring competitive offerings and enhanced member engagement.
• Lead the design and operation of the revenue assurance and fraud prevention programs to proactively detect, prevent, and resolve complex card and payment-related issues.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive payment services strategy that aligns with the credit union’s strategic objectives and member needs. Provide leadership and oversight for all payment operations, including ACH, wire transfers, online bill pay, mobile deposit capture, check processing, and branch and ATM image capture.
• Establish and implement strategic initiatives to support both current and emerging payment channels, ensuring the credit union remains competitive in a rapidly evolving payments landscape.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements and network guidelines, maintaining rigorous monitoring within the Cards and Payments areas.
• Manage and strengthen vendor and partner relationships, including setting performance standards, validating billing accuracy, and conducting regular contract and pricing reviews to ensure market competitiveness.
• Provide strategic direction for the card loyalty and rewards program, optimizing member engagement, retention, and portfolio profitability.
• Monitor, analyze, and report key metrics related to card usage, penetration, revenue, and member adoption to inform data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

What You Need To Succeed:
• Education and Experience Required:
o Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Human Resources, Finance or related field.
o 8+ years of total experience in the field, demonstrating deep functional expertise and strategic impact.
o 8+ years of leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years managing other leaders or multi-department teams.
o Proven record of strategic decision-making, organizational alignment, and executive-level collaboration.
o Experience overseeing large-scale initiatives, change management efforts, or enterprise-wide projects.
• Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
o Comprehensive understanding of the organization's business model, operations, and industry landscape.
o Ability to set and execute strategic direction across multiple departments.
o Skilled in financial oversight, policy development, and risk management.
o Strong communication and influence skills for working with senior leadership, the board, and external stakeholders.
