America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) is searching for a new vice president of consumer lending (VPCL). This person should be a strong leader and an accomplished consumer lender. ACCU’s membership primarily consists of churches, ministries, and schools aligned with Wesleyan Christian doctrine; their ministers, employees, members/attendees, officers, teachers, students, and others associated with these organizations qualify for membership. ACCU’s mission is to build stronger ministries, families, communities, and futures. The VPCL may be expected to attend community events (both religious and non-religious) and must be comfortable talking to a diverse range of individuals, including pastors and members of local churches.
As the VPCL, you will report to the chief lending officer. The VPCL directs and coordinates all consumer lending and collection activities within the credit union, ensuring compliance and development of the credit union’s lending and collection policy. The VPCL implements sound credit risk management practices through credit risk management, monitoring and reporting, and overall consumer lending and collection compliance. This position is responsible for supporting a loan origination process that maximizes the effectiveness of the credit union’s existing lending philosophy.
Interested candidates should have 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role; applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and strong interpersonal skills. The VPCL should motivate or influence others and requires a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and externally) is an essential part of the job; a high interpersonal skill level is critical to this position’s success. Candidates must have an in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting lending programs and extensive knowledge of consumer and real estate lending and collection practices and procedures. There is a possible opportunity to work remotely one day a week and after the first 6 to 12 months a hybrid working opportunity may be available.
