VICE PRESIDENT OF PEOPLE AND CULTURE
O Bee Credit Union
$623M
Lacey, WA
Are you passionate about shaping workplace culture, leading with empathy, and building high-performing, inclusive teams? O Bee Credit Union is looking for a Vice President of People and Culture to join our senior leadership team and lead the development and execution of our people strategy. This is more than a traditional HR role! It’s an opportunity to help shape the overall direction of our organization by building an inclusive, purpose-driven culture where team members are deeply connected to the mission of credit unions and the meaningful impact we have in the lives of our Members and communities.
As a trusted partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, the VP of People & Culture will strategize, design, and direct the implementation of human resources, including talent acquisition, team member engagement, performance management, benefits, compliance, compensation, and organizational development. As the executive sponsor of the DEIB committee, this role is central to creating a workplace that embodies joy and will drive a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and accountability across the credit union. You will lead a small but dedicated team, serve as a coach and advisor to leaders across the organization, and help build systems that support team member growth and engagement.
The ideal candidate brings both strategic insight and hands-on operational leadership. You will be responsible for our compensation and benefits strategies, guiding organizational talent policy, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. You’ll also help design team member development programs that support our team’s professional growth and build a strong leadership pipeline. Your work will reinforce a culture where team members feel seen, supported, and empowered to do their best, all while staying aligned with O Bee’s focus on being “service obsessed” and “unapologetically unique.”
We are proud to be a purpose-driven organization that values authenticity, integrity, and people-first leadership. The right candidate is collaborative, future-focused, and energized by the opportunity to make a lasting impact through people and culture.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum of 5 years in a human resources leadership role
* Demonstrated experience within the credit union industry is required, with a strong understanding of its values, structure, and member-focused mission
* Proven track record of developing and implementing effective human resources strategies that support business objectives
* SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR a plus
* Experience in employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance
* Proven ability to coach leaders, resolve conflicts, and manage sensitive employee matters
* Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
* Familiarity with HRIS systems; experience with Paylocity is a plus
If you’re excited about the opportunity to lead with purpose, build community, and create a meaningful impact through your work, we invite you to apply and bring your passion for people to O Bee Credit Union.
