Summary:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the credit union’s marketing strategy to drive member growth, product adoption, and overall brand visibility. Working in close partnership with the Director of Communications, this role ensures that all marketing initiatives, campaigns, and promotional efforts are aligned with organizational messaging and brand communications to deliver a cohesive, member-focused experience. The Director oversees marketing campaigns, product positioning, digital marketing, analytics, and promotional initiatives, using data-driven strategies to support both short- and long-term organizational goals. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, marketing expertise, and the ability to collaborate across teams to advance the credit union’s mission and strategic priorities.
Standard Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, the schedule varies based on departmental and community event planning needs. Occasional early mornings, late evenings, and Saturdays required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing Leadership
• Develop and implement the credit union’s comprehensive marketing strategy to support membership growth, lending goals, and product penetration.
• Align marketing initiatives with the organization’s business objectives and member engagement priorities.
• Partner with the Director of Communications to ensure cohesive brand storytelling and consistent messaging across all channels.
• Advise executive leadership on marketing performance, market positioning, and emerging trends in member behavior and financial services.
Campaign Development & Execution
• Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, and in-branch channels.
• Oversee creative development, messaging, and design alignment for marketing materials.
• Lead go-to-market strategies for new products, services, and member programs, ensuring proper targeting, promotion, and measurement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver coordinated campaigns that drive measurable member action and satisfaction.
Digital Marketing & Analytics
• Lead the credit union’s digital marketing strategy, including paid media, SEO/SEM, social media, and email marketing.
• Manage analytics and performance dashboards to evaluate campaign ROI, member acquisition costs, and conversion metrics.
• Leverage data insights to refine segmentation, targeting, and personalized marketing efforts.
• Ensure digital content aligns with brand standards and regulatory requirements.
Brand, Product, & Member Growth
• Oversee product marketing, including development of promotional materials, positioning statements, and lifecycle marketing strategies.
• Ensure a unified member experience across all marketing touchpoints.
• Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify growth opportunities and member needs.
• Partner with Retail, Lending, and Digital Experience teams to drive cross-sell initiatives and deepen member engagement.
Budget Management & Vendor Oversight
• Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for maximum impact.
• Oversee vendor and agency relationships, including creative, media buying, and digital partners.
• Evaluate proposals, monitor performance, and ensure contractual compliance and brand consistency.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure all marketing campaigns and materials comply with regulatory guidelines including UDAAP, Fair Lending, and Truth in Savings.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams to review content, disclosures, and campaign materials.
• Implement internal controls to ensure audit readiness and minimize reputational risk.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role may oversee marketing specialists, digital marketing staff, or creative partners, and will collaborate closely with the Director of Communications.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required.
• MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including leadership of integrated campaigns and product marketing in financial services or member-based organizations.
• Proven track record of driving measurable growth through marketing and digital strategies.
Technical Skills
• Proficient with marketing automation platforms, CRMs, and data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of digital advertising, SEO/SEM, and social media marketing.
• Experience with campaign measurement, ROI tracking, and data-driven decision-making.
• Knowledge of financial products and consumer marketing best practices.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
