Is This the Career for You?
The vp-accounting & finance plays a pivotal role within our financial leadership team, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial governance. Reporting directly to the chief financial officer (cfo), this senior leader ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while strengthening the processes and internal controls that support the credit union’s financial foundation.
This role is responsible for the general ledger, close discipline, reconciliations, and audit readiness, ensuring accounting operations run smoothly and reliably. The vp will help stabilize and strengthen accounting practices, identifying issues early, escalating appropriately, and implementing sustainable solutions that reinforce confidence in financial reporting.
Beyond operational leadership, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to financial strategy and organizational decision-making. The vp will partner closely with the cfo and executive team to support planning efforts, guide financial insight, and ensure the credit union is positioned for long-term success.
This highly collaborative role includes regular interaction with executive leadership, auditors, regulatory examiners from the NCUA and DIFS, and occasional engagement with the board of directors. The vp will also work across departments to simplify complex financial concepts, strengthen financial understanding across the organization, and ensure orsa maintains strong financial discipline while remaining audit-ready and regulator-ready at all times.
