CUES Announces Winners of its Individual Awards, Hall of Fame Inductees

MADISON, Wis.— CUES is pleased to announce the winners of its annual individual awards and the class of 2020 Hall of Fame inductees. All will be honored during a special online celebration on November 19, immediately after Knowledge & Networking November, CUES’ online conference experience, wraps at 5 p.m. Eastern time. 

Ricky Otey, EVP/Chief Operations Officer, Sharonview Federal Credit Union, Indian Land, SC, U.S., was named the 2020 CUES Exceptional Leader. This award recognizes an industry professional who has rendered exceptional service and made outstanding contributions to strengthen their credit union and the industry.

CUES Outstanding Chief Executive honors for 2020 are going to Garth Warner, CCD, President/CEO, Servus Credit Union, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This award recognizes outstanding leaders at the CEO level who display professional achievement, support employee motivation, and are dedicated to their community.

The CUES Distinguished Director 2020 is Linda Carver, CCD, America First Credit Union, Ogden, UT, U.S. This honor is presented to a credit union board or committee member whose achievements have strengthened their credit union. 

Inductees into the CUES Hall of Fame are recognized for their contributions to their profession and the industry, involvement in community service, education and a history of self-improvement, and contributions to CUES. Entering the CUES Hall of Fame in 2020 are: 

  • Stewart Ramsey, CCE, CUES Board Chair, November 2018–July 2020; retired President/CEO, Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, FL, U.S.
  • Maurice Smith, President/CEO, Local Government Federal Credit Union, Raleigh, NC, U.S.
