1st Liberty Federal Credit Union ($211M, Great Falls, MT) is seeking an Executive Vice President to potentially succeed our President/CEO, who plans to retire in the next 12–18 months.

1st Liberty is a thriving credit union that has proudly served north-central Montana since 1955, initially serving only the Malmstrom Air Force Base. Since then, we have expanded to serve five rural counties and their communities. We now have seven full-service branches, one located on Malmstrom Air Force Base, three additional locations in Great Falls, and one each in Conrad, Cut Bank, and Shelby.

We are headquartered in Great Falls, the third-largest city in Montana, and the county seat of Cascade County. Great Falls is located along the Missouri River with convenient access to Interstate 15. Our community is rich in history; the Lewis and Clark Expedition passed through here, and today, a museum commemorates their journey. Famed western artist Charlie Russell called Great Falls home, and many of his original works are showcased here. This position reports directly to the President/CEO. The Executive Vice President will be an experienced leader with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of leading a credit union, coupled with a passion for building on 1st Liberty’s strong tradition of member service. The EVP will also be a strong community leader, an effective project manager, and a tech-savvy professional who can help advance the mission of service to the community while enhancing digital offerings. Experience working with regulators is essential, as is a genuine commitment to embracing and thriving in a small-town lifestyle.

We recognize our success will depend upon management’s ability to develop and work collaboratively with staff; therefore, excellent communication skills, management experience, and the ability to motivate team members is essential.
