This role offers the opportunity to lead AUCU’s technical operations strategy and execution, overseeing project management, technical implementation, IT support, infrastructure management, vendor partnerships, and compliance within the technology environment. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will help drive operational excellence across core systems and support platforms while ensuring technology initiatives align with organizational growth objectives.

The Director of Technical Operations will be responsible for infrastructure stability, system performance, and technical service delivery while overseeing the implementation of new technologies and enhancements to existing systems. This includes supporting initiatives tied to AUCU’s growth strategy, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring strong collaboration between technology and business units. Familiarity with Jack Henry and Symitar platforms will be especially valuable as the credit union continues to evolve its core and digital capabilities.

The Director of Technical Operations will also play a key role in vendor management and regulatory compliance, ensuring technology partners deliver value while meeting performance, security, and contractual standards. This highly visible role requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and communication skills to support enterprise-wide technology adoption and operational success.

Help Us Get to Know You
We are seeking a technology operations leader with at least five years of relevant experience in technical operations, infrastructure management, or IT leadership roles, preferably within financial services or credit union environments. Candidates should bring experience managing projects, supporting enterprise systems, and leading technical teams responsible for service delivery and operational stability. A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on familiarity with Jack Henry and Symitar platforms, experience overseeing vendor relationships, and a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance expectations within financial institutions. Experience supporting organizational growth initiatives, system implementations, or operational modernization efforts will be highly valued.

This position is based in Auburn, Alabama, and requires in-person engagement with staff and partners. Remote work is not available for this role.
