Presenters: Peter Myers, SVP, DDJ Myers; Tammy Heikkinen, CEO, Members Cooperative Credit Union

Description: We have all heard about the “War for Talent”—the sheer complexity and challenge of recruiting, retaining, engaging, and developing talent that will lead our organizations tomorrow. The fronts of this war have long impacted the credit union industry. According to the 2018 Leadership Survey by NAFCU, BFB Gallagher, and DDJ Myers, the challenge will become more significant as 52% of CEOs (61% of CEOs of $750M+ credit unions) are expected to transition out of their roles within the next six years.

The following are questions that we must consider:

  • What are the costs and risks of failing to develop our people?
  • Who should we develop?
  • Where do we start?
  • What is the scope of a meaningful talent development program?
  • Who should own talent development?
  • How do we measure success?

Tammy Heikkinen and Peter Myers, SVP of DDJ Myers, will outline the transformational practices that MCCU has implemented to enable its human capital to become its most valued and leveraged asset. This webinar will cover the best-practices approach to develop executive and mid-level talent to meet the needs of tomorrow’s strategic priorities.

Key Takeaways:

  • How to measure leadership growth
  • Primary and secondary benefits of creating a leadership development culture
  • The pitfalls of a development process
  • Understanding the credit union industry’s succession trends
