As credit unions we pride ourselves on being leaders in financial inclusion. Financial inclusion is in our roots as financial cooperatives and as such carries the potential to help deliver on the mission and values of the credit union, while also enhancing performance. To do that, we need to start with defining our own personal and organizational why. We also need to address the WHY of our business model – are we truly walking the talk in embracing financial inclusion and thus actively engaging and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in our organizations. We know today, that changing demographics and other socio-economic trends are shaping who credit union members and employees will be into the future. Are we prepared?
