Linda Medina Named 2019 CUES Distinguished Director
MADISON, Wis.— Linda Medina, Board Chair, Guadalupe Credit Union, Santa Fe, New Mexico, was recently named the 2019 CUES® Distinguished Director. A board member for 17 years, Linda played a key role in developing the credit union’s current mission to help its membership base become financially empowered.
Linda’s passion to serve the surrounding community, which includes many recent immigrants and the underserved, was key in keeping the credit union focused on this mission and vision. As a result, Guadalupe Credit Union became a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), and has since received over $3.8 million in funding. The institution has grown during this timeframe from $30 million in assets to over $175 million, and from 4,800 members to over 20,000.
Linda serves as a mentor for new board members. She was one of the first to receive the Certified Credit Union Volunteer designation, and through her leadership all Guadalupe Credit Union directors have become Certified Credit Union Board Members.
Linda volunteers her services to other organizations as well, including Habitat for Humanity, the American Business Women’s Association, and the Association of Government Accountants.
CUES will honor Linda at Directors Conference, happening December 8-11, 2019, in Orlando, Florida.
The CUES Distinguished Director award is presented to a credit union board or committee member whose achievements have strengthened their credit union.

Business banking users—whether we’re talking about a mom-and-pop’s part-time manager, a stay-at-home parent with a side hustle, or a thriving professional practice—are not that different from consumer banking users. They go home to binge Netflix, make quick buys on Amazon, and use their smartphones more and more every day.
They’ve come to expect a certain kind of user experience—intuitive, frictionless, and mobile. But a lot of business banking solutions seem to ignore t...
Ineffective contract management can impact a company’s bottom-line by up to 9%! Most of your top vendors negotiate contracts for a living, whereas credit unions will negotiate a key contract once every several years. Join us for a 30-minute, high-level webinar to learn about negotiating effective long-term contracts. During...
