Bringing Financial Health to Life: From Strategy to Implementation
Claire Suellentrop, Head of Go-to-Market, Attune
Many credit unions have identified financial health as a strategic priority, but the journey from boardroom vision to frontline reality can feel overwhelming. This interactive workshop is designed for credit union leaders who have already committed to financial health in their strategic plans and are ready to tackle the "how" of implementation. Participants will learn practical frameworks for embedding financial health into operations, from measuring member financial health to training frontline staff, from building the right partner ecosystem to tracking business impact. Through case studies, hands-on exercises, and peer discussion, attendees will leave with concrete next steps they can immediately apply at their institutions.

The Unplanned Disaster: When Credit Union RTOs Fail
Heath Renfrow, Co-Founder and Chief Information Security Officer, Fenix24
In today’s rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape, one of the most critical, and often overlooked, controls is the ability to recover. While Credit Unions invest heavily in perimeter defenses and threat detection, many fail to ensure they have immutable, tested backups with realistic Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs). Modern attackers increasingly target backup systems themselves, aiming to extend downtime and amplify business impact. Without backups that are protected from tampering and proven through regular testing, recovery efforts can stall for weeks or longer.
Resilience depends not just on having backups, but on trusting them. Immutable, regularly tested backups with defined RTOs are essential to minimizing disruption and sustaining operations after an attack. More than a cybersecurity safeguard, they are a foundational element of business continuity. By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify how modern cyber-attacks target backup systems and assess the operational risks of relying on untested or mutable backups.
